SCOTT STANLEY / BIO

Scott is a seasoned audio engineer who has spent over a decade in recording studios and running FOH for numerous artists, both locally, and touring nationally. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in a very influential music environment. Scott has worked with musicians from all over the world. He attended college at Slippery Rock University and Kent State University  and since the age of 14, Scott has been playing in bands, recording, and producing music. Pehaps one of the last generations of recordists to have started recording music before owning a computer. After deciding to pursue music production professionally. he sought out classes at The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Arizona to further his studies in Audio Engineering. During his stay there, he took several jobs to support himself. Between working at a record store, doing promotions for Live Nation, working as a stage hand for Rhino Staging, and attending classes, he became an excellent multi-tasker. After graduating, he moved to Nashville, TN where he was an intern at both Sixteen Ton Studio, and Masterfonics simultaneously, and was sleeping very little. This almost absurd work ethic, and love for music, allowed him the opportunity to work with producers like Robert Reynolds (The Mavericks) and Ken Coomer (Wilco) and have access to some of the nicest recording studios in the world. By age 23, he was running the studio in the basement of Famous Music Publishing Company on Music Row.  In 2010, Scott moved to Portland, OR  where he was working as a freelance Engineer, continuing to work along side incredible engineers and producers like Steve Berlin and Justin Phelps. He and producer Keefe Rayfield would eventually go on to design and build their own recording studio, the Studio of the Woodland Realm in NE Portland. Scott also toured the country as FOH Engineer for Chadwick Stokes (Dispatch), White Buffalo, and Amy Helm.  Various NW music festivals like Pickathon, Symbiosis, MFNW, Project Pabst, and Beloved have all hired Scott to consult and run sound at their events.  Since 2014, Scott has been working with Portland based company Redcube, initially as Lead Technician for Audio/Visual at the Whiskey Bar in Downtown Portland, and continuing by designing the state of the art KV2 sound system at 45 East in SE Portland, where he is currently the Lead Sound Technician.
